Dear Mr Cloete and the Eldridge Primary School Governing Body.
I would just like to update you on the development of Legacy with
We Believe in Eldorado Park.
Due to high bank charges and the lack of new Legends enrolling to support our school. We Believe in Eldorado Park / Africa has to deduct the bank charges of the school’s income to keep Legacy and our bank account active.
Last month (October) we had 59 Legends, which brought in an income of R1,545.00 for the school and the bank charge were R608.14. Therefore the school’s income for October was R936.14
We currently have 66 Legends enrolled with Legacy, which brought in an income of R1,775.00 for this month and bank charges were R600.97. The school, therefore, receives R1174.03
This month we have also received R330 from the Legacy Box.
With four new teachers joining Legacy and using the box.
Currently Eldridge Primary has R 6489.17 available.
Thank you once again for allowing us the opportunity to assist you,
your school, staff and pupils.
Thank you,

Construction at the Eldridge Primary - April 2014
13th September 2012
Dear Mr Cloete and the Eldridge Primary School Governing Body.
I would just like to update you on the development of Legacy with
We Believe in Eldorado Park.
We are planning to purchase and print on small envelopes to go with Eldridge Primary’s dropbox, for individuals to invest in to Eldridge.
We have received confirmation from Mashooda Ismail, GDE Deputy Chief Education Specialist for policy and planning, that we can work with all schools in District 14 and beyond. Our model is designed for working with SGBs and not partnering up with the Department of Education as per last month’s update. We have agreed on an information-sharing agreement between We Believe in Africa and the GDE.
We have communicated with Mrs Stuart who attended the Art of Community Building with us, to hold a similar workshop with one of her classes and their parents, however, she is not in the position to assist us at the moment. We are sending community work from
Hephzibah Woman’s Wellness Organization which is focused on Teenage pregnancy to attend the workshop and host a similar workshop at your school in the next few weeks. The next community building workshop is being held on the 20 – 21 September 2012.
We currently have 68 Legends enrolled with Legacy,
which brought in an income of R1348 for this month so far.
The income has slightly dropped for this month as we had 5 missed debits.
Currently Eldridge Primary has R 4676 available.
Thank you once again for allowing us the opportunity to assist you,
your school, staff and pupils.
Please, Mr Cloete, invite us to the next Eldridge Primary SGB meeting,
to meet your new SBG and share with them what we doing to assist you and your team to improve Eldridge Primary School.
Remember: All our children deserve First Class Education Today!!

10th August 2012
Dear Mr Cloete and the Eldridge Primary School Governing Body.
I would just like to update you on the development of Legacy with
We Believe in Africa and Eldorado Park.
A few weeks about we installed a dropbox at the school as per Mr Cloete’s suggestion as a means to accept investments for the school’s improvement, some of the parents are reluctant to give their banking details and some don’t have bank accounts. I would encourage those of you would have not registered yet to perhaps use his mean of investment method as every rand counts for the betterment of your school.
We have been meeting and communicating with the Department of Education Central District (14) about our vision and work with your school thus far. I have attached a letter that we have received from the Department showcasing their support of We Believe in Africa and Legacy within all the schools in this district.
This past Tuesday, we also met with Mashooda Ismail, GDE Deputy Chief Education Specialist for policy and planning. We had a depth discussion about improving schools in the district. She has given us the thumbs up for the work we are doing with your school and made the suggestion that we consult with GDE for all Psycho-Social Intervention Programmes we would like to implement in the future. We agreed we would make use of all GDE-approved service providers within a 10-kilometre radius of your school to keep in line with GDE policies and planning.
Mashooda mentioned that we don’t need a partnership with GDE as our service is to SGB and not the GDE, we are however drawing up an agreement that we will share information with the GDE, keep up to date with our development and consult them with any Psycho-Social Intervention Programmes and large scale Infrastructure development you would like to develop at your school with our support.
We will contact Mrs Stuart who attended the Art of Community Building Workshop on Monday afternoon, to hold a similar workshop with one of her classes and their parents. We are hoping this can take place on a Saturday morning at your school.
We currently have 68 Legends enrolled with Legacy, which brought in an income of R1613 for this month so far.
The income has slightly dropped for this month as we had 5 missed debits, we are following up with these Legends to receive their investments for your schools. We also have two new yearly debts
that happened at the end of last month.
Currently Eldridge Primary has R 3328 available.
As per a discussion with Mr Cloete, on Tuesday the next two areas Legacy will be focusing at Eldridge Primary are installing two more new flood lights on the school premises to improve safety and security at the school, as well as installing a security gate on the storage room next to the school hall. Please keep on sharing Legacy with friends, family members and associates as we improve our schools for our children, community and nation!
Thank you once again for allowing us the opportunity to assist you,
your school, staff and pupils.
Thank you,
We Believe in Africa

We will be receiving a partnership agreement from them this week, allowing us to work with all the schools within the district, we will be sending it to you too for your records. As you know our vision is to work with all the schools in South Africa and we are taking steps with the GDE to access all 15 school districts in Gauteng and all in South Africa.
As per your suggestion Mr Cloete, we have purchased a cash drop box for the school. I will contact you this week and see when is the best time to come and install it, we would like to also educate your staff on this matter so they can share this with all your students.
Last week launched the latest Legacy video, 103 – “Every Child Deserves First Class Education today”! You can view it here. (http://youtu.be/jObS7RIVawU) Please share it with your network and circles of influence. Twitter it, Facebook it, Spam it, Share it, Show it!! It’s only the beginning as we raise awareness about the urgent need for improvement in your school. Let’s allow our children and youth to lead their futures and education, today.
We will also be communicating with Mrs Stuart who attended the Art of Community Building Workshop, to hold a similar workshop with one of her classes and their parents. We are hoping this can take place on a Saturday morning at the school.
We currently have 65 Legends enrolled with Legacy,

23rd April 2012
Dear Mr Cloete and the Eldridge Primary School Governing Body.
I would just like to update you on the development of Legacy with
We Believe in Eldorado Park.
Currently today we have 63 active Legends, which saw over the last two months us finding the committed few who are interested in our children and their future. We have suspended 12 Legends investments as a result of them not keeping to their promise and commitment. A few individuals promised to make their own EFTs into our account and over the past three months have not done so. As a result, this impacts your school’s Legacy cash flow. A few also have changed their banking account information and have not informed us of this and do not respond to our voicemail messages or email correspondence. The rest of the suspended Legends do not have money in their accounts by the scheduled date for their debts, which results in We Believe in Eldorado Park being fined R2.60 per missed debit and we cannot continue to afford these fines on their behalf.
These are some of the administration processes we would like to keep you informed about.
As mentioned above we have 63 Legends enrolled with Legacy,
which brings in an income of R1398 per month for the school.
We currently have R 2473.26 available for Eldridge Primary and
by 5 May 2012, we should have accumulated R 3871.26.
Should all the collection of debts go according to plan,
on the 1st of May 2012.
Currently, we still awaiting for Mr Hope who has installed the floodlights for us at your school, to complete the work as we owe him the balance of the amount.
Last week Wednesday we met with Mr Naidoo from Parkdale Primary and Mr Le Roux from Silver Oaks High School. These two schools have been selected by a number of Legends who are enrolled with Legacy at Eldridge Primary and have attended these two schools.
We planning to meet and present to each of their SGBs
in the next two weeks to launch Legacy at the school.
They both said they are excited about their new SGBs and
that they will be the best SGBs in Eldorado Park and will support and assist Legacy.
We are happy to announce that we have partnered up on a workshop basis with an organization known as Symphonia. One of our board members attended one of their workshops last month.
The workshop is called ‘The Art of Community Building’ and is focused on the theme, “when conversations happen the world changes”.
We plan to take 6 educators from the 3 schools to the workshop and we are excited to share with you that Symphonia has secured funding for 3 principles from We Believe in Eldorado Park to attend the two-day workshop, on the 10th – 11th of May. We would like to take a teacher from each school to be part of the development and Legacy’s vision. Our aim for this is to inspire and give our teachers the tools and skills to hold proactive conversations at their schools with an aim to create a healthy dialogue between teachers, students & parents.
We will discuss the workshop further with you all and how this development can impact the school. We would like to host this workshop with your students, parents and teachers at the school and allow these 6 educators to host and facilitate this workshop within each of their schools.
I have spoken to Mr Cloete about the workshop and which teacher would be selected to go with him. This is the importance of our teachers supporting Legacy, currently four staff at Eldridge support Legacy, Mr Cloete, Mr Johnson, Mrs Fernandis and Mrs Stuart.
I will call Mr Cloete to discuss this further, as we believe we must first empower the teacher who has and is still supporting Legacy.
I have personally spoken to all the teachers about Legacy, and excluding the four above, none wanted to get involved and have not still not done so. We would first like to work with the teachers who believe in and support Legacy. It would be challenging for a teacher who has not yet supported Legacy in the first year to benefit from it.
We would like to set an example for other teachers to join. We think that it will be healthy for a teacher who is enrolled with Legacy to attend the workshop, who is committed to the school, will still be at the school for the next 3 – 5 years and will be willing to host these workshops at the school on a Saturday morning with parents and staff (a minimum of one/two workshop).
We are excited about the growth of Legacy and the impact it has had thus far at Eldridge Primary School.
Thank you once again for allowing us the opportunity to assist you,
your school, staff and pupils.
Thank you,
We Believe in Africa

Dear Mr Cloete and the Eldridge Primary School Governing Body.
I would just like to update you on the development of Legacy with We Believe in Eldorado Park.
Currently today, 20th September 2011 we have 55 Legends enrolled with Legacy. We are currently developing an online campaign to
find all past students and any persons who attended a school within South Africa.
We have been struggling to enrol within the community, over the course of 4 days, we knocked on 191 doors, with a team of 8 kids and found 4 Legends. With a ratio, of 1 Legend found for every 47.7 doors, we knocked on.
We currently have R3097.26 available for the school and a monthly income for the school currently of R 1180. The current amount available is so high at the moment because we have received a yearly payment from a Legend in England.
Please do let me know what you would like to do with these funds,

Legacy Key points
• We Believe Africa invited all previous students, parents and citizens of South Africa and from around the world to invest a minimum of R20 per month into a school in South Africa with Legacy.
• The investments went into the development of the school via School Governing Body’s (SGB) decision and choices.
The SGB would decide what are critical needs of the school, divided into 3 areas:
o School Infrastructure Upgrades,
o Staff Development or
o Student Development.
• Legacy was run free of charge at each school we worked with.
• Legacy first and fundamentally supported only business and service providers (With are in the GDE {Gauteng Department of Education}
network) within a 10 kilometer radius of each school or current parents of students at the school’s businesses.
• The school and their SGBs did not receive any funds directly, We Believe in Africa distributed the school’s funds on the school behave.
• R5 rand of every investment goes to the banking charges and leadership fees of We Believe in Africa.
(R2.10 per collection debt charge by South African banks)
• The funding options available were done via debt orders, EFT’s and a secure cash drop box at each school.
• We Believe in Africa is registered as a Not For Profit Organisation and is currently being registered as a Public Benefit Organisation.
• We Believe in Africa’s vision was to allow every child in South Africa to have access to first-class education by 2020.
• We Believe in Africa’s vision was to develop a monthly income of R100 000 per month for every school in South Africa, enabling each school to be on its path to being First Class.
